Te Aho Pounamu ki Te Ara Oranga is a Māori kaupapa dedicated to supporting whānau in distress using traditional Māori practices. We use a wananga process, incorporating Karakia as a vital component of our healing journey. Creating a safe space for whānau to come together and discuss the challenges they face and working collaboratively to find solutions. Our approach includes practices such as Harakeke weaving, Korowai making, engaging with Ngahere, Hikoi, Fishing and Diving.

We also guide whānau in the use of Maramataka (moon phases) to connect with themselves and Te Taiao (the natural world), for activities such as fishing, diving, and hunting. Additionally, we encourage the use of a personal daily journal to align oneself with the Maramataka, nurturing the wairua (spirit), tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), and Te Taiao.
